There are two main types of RICS qualification – Associate (AssocRICS) and Chartered (MRICS):

  • Associate is the entry-level RICS qualification and offers the chance to progress to full chartered status. 
     
  • Chartered is the most common way to qualify as most people already have surveying-related qualifications and work experience.

 

All of our surveyors are experienced Chartered Building Surveyors and not entry level Associate RICS surveyors. Therefore you can be assured that your property is being surveyed by an experienced surveying professional with a minimum of 10 years experience in the industry. 

 

Covid-19 Guidance

 

For Valuations:

Current circumstances related to the global COVID-19 pandemic are leading some RICS regulated members* to include ‘material valuation uncertainty’ declarations in their reporting and advice. This does not mean that some RICS regulated members are currently unable to value, indeed valuation under these circumstances provides a key function to support markets and stakeholders. However, valuations may reflect the restrictions that material uncertainty brings. These decisions are on a case by case basis.

 

For Surveys and Inspections:

We have in-house surveyors still available to undertake instructions and carry out surveys.

The surveyors are of course adhering to the social distancing advice - following stringent government guidelines they can work upstairs whilst the vendors are downstairs and vice versa to keep distance.

This is subject to arranging access to the property - Due to the current Covid 19 situation, access will depend on if we can access the property via the current occupier/estate agents). If we are getting access to a property with a vendor who is self isolating to protect themselves from Covid 19, in that situation we can only proceed to undertake the survey with the vendors' full permission.

If the property is a home to somebody who already has the virus, we would need to delay the survey until they have recovered.

  • Chartered Building SurveyorBuilding surveying is one of the widest areas of surveying practice.   • Chartered Valuation Surveyor - Accurate valuations are vital to a healthy property market and a stable economy, forming the basis of performance analysis, financing decisions, transactional or development advice, dispute resolution and taxation. RICS surveyors follow robust practice standards to deliver high quality valuations.   • Chartered Project Management Surveyor - Project managers occupy a central role in the development process, driving the successful completion of projects. He or she will then usually represent the client throughout the full development process managing the inputs from the client, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders
